Different roles. One shared commitment to quality.

01

Freelance translators for certificates, specialist texts, and business or public-authority documents.

02

Interpreters and other language professionals for conversations, appointments, events and assignments, either on site or remotely.

03

Professional partnerships

What matters to us

Clarity before a project begins.

A concise, informative profile is more useful than a general application. What matters is the professional expertise you offer and how the collaboration can be organised reliably.

  • Languages & language pairs

Which source and target languages can you work with confidently?

  • Subject areas & formats

Which documents, appointments or subject areas do you regularly work with?

  • Qualifications

What relevant training, authorisation, sworn-interpreter status or experience do you have?

  • Reliability

How do you manage availability, data protection, follow-up questions and deadlines?

How to get in touch

Three steps, with no application portal.

  1. Step 1

    Introduce yourself briefly

Tell us about your languages, subject areas, working methods, where you can work and your preferred contact details.

  2. Step 2

    Check the fit

ABBA-Sprachendienste checks whether your profile is broadly compatible with its current needs and potential types of assignment.

  3. Step 3

Agree the details for each project

If a suitable need arises, the scope, deadline, confidentiality arrangements and terms will be agreed in detail.

Working with us

Frequently asked questions before getting in touch

  • Is this an advertised permanent position?

No. The focus is on freelance, project-based collaboration and language partnerships. Contacting us does not constitute an offer of employment or create any entitlement to assignments.

  • What information should I include in my profile?

It helps to include your language pairs, subject areas, qualifications, previous experience, where you can work, availability and contact details. Please do not send sensitive original documents at this stage.

  • Do I need to be an authorised translator or generally sworn interpreter?

That depends on the service. Certain certified translations or court assignments require the relevant qualifications. Different professional credentials may be relevant to other projects.

  • Can I contact you about a language that is not yet listed on the website?

Yes. Other language pairs may also be of interest. ABBA-Sprachendienste considers each case individually to see whether there is a suitable need and a basis for reliable professional collaboration.
